How Porsche is preparing its new Junior for the big stage
“The selection process for the new Porsche GB Junior was meticulous and challenging due to the high quality of the drivers applying, with notable drivers like Matthew Rees and Tom Mills being eliminated. The finalists for the Junior position were Joe Warhurst, James Wallis, Josh Rowledge, and Tom Edgar, but there was no clear favorite heading into the final shootout at Silverstone. Wallis, like the other finalists, wanted to be well-prepared and practiced interview scenarios with his school headmaster, as well as familiarized himself with the Type 992 911 GT3 Cup car. Despite the wet and miserable conditions during the shootout, Wallis was prepared as he had previously tested the Porsche in wet conditions. The constantly changing weather posed challenges for both the drivers and assessors. The final decision of selecting the next Junior was made based on various factors and Wallis was grateful for the opportunity and supportive experiences from Porsche.”
